How to stop smoking

Introduction

I myself am lucky enough never to have needed such how-to advice. But I finally constructed this little theory after dealing with many failed attempts by friends and bf's.
It sounds silly, but it works.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Steps

Step One

Decide that this is ACTUALLY something you want. Not something you know you SHOULD do. Decide that you realize you're going to die otherwise.

Step Two

Go on youtube and watch as many anti-smoking commercials as you can stomach. I find the ones which feature ex-smokers with those throat vibrators are especially effective.

Step Three

Smoke your last cigarette but keep the box. Stash nicorette gum in the box and chew when you're getting the nicotine crave.

Step Four

Maintain your EXACT smoking routine--go outside when the other smokers do, scurry outside after your dinner, etc. Do just what you would do if you were actually smoking--but instead of lighting up, chew your little, lemony gum. Chew it for exactly the amount of time that you would smoke--then spit out. Keeping these physical habits allows you to break the actual addiction without giving up everything.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Don't smoke those nicotine-free cigs--they won't allow you to break free of the hand/mouth comfort.

Smoking is not only bad for your health. It makes your clothes stink, your teeth yellow and projects an offensive smell or odor.

Step One

Don't ever start! Well, I suppose you are beyond this point, if you are reading this article.

Step Two

Set your mind off smoking.

Step Three

Smoking does not relax you--your mind does.

Step Four

Mentally, you put yourself in certain situations, get out of there! Replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

Step Five

Feeling stressed--take a couple of breaths. Go for a walk.

Chew gum.

Obviously, I am not a smoker! However, I strongly believe we all have the power to control what is destructive in our lives. You are killing yourself and others. Second-hand smoke is even worse!

Reduce stress - Stress contribute the most why people start smoking at the first place

Step Two

Find friends who don't smoke - this doesn't mean you need to abandon your own friend, but I find that if you hang out with someone who smoke, you most likely will be influenced to smoke again

Step Three

Do activities - This will help you forget the need of smoking, by doing activities, you will find yourself busy and have no time to smoke.

Step Four

Be considerate with others and think about own health - Cigarette smokes is harmful for health of young childen, second hand smokers got the worst part and it also harmful to your body and your lung

Be competitive - You will realize you can run longer and have a longer breath once you stop smoking

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Try to chew nicorette gum if your level of addiction to nicotine is really high
  • Find fun activities and not boring, playing sport is the best way of activities
  • Don't try to stop smoking all at once, most likely it won't work
  • Don't let your friend influence to start smoking again
