How to go to the movies

If you would like to be entertained with a movie but don't know how to make a pick, start with these tips!

Step One

I like to check out movie reviews. They can point me in the right direction. Also, I get clear over which movies are rentals and which I don't need to spend 2 hours to see. I like reviews at www.rottentomatoes.com, www.metacritic.com/film, the Wall Street Journal's Weekend Journal on Friday with their film reviews, and People magazine movie reviews.

Step Two

It's great to find friends with a similar interest in movie-going or film genres. Do you like romantic comedies, horror movies, heist films, suspense/thrillers, or do you have a favorite actor/comedian? Find friends with similar interests.

Step Three

Find an easy time that works for catching a movie. I love seeing a late afternoon movie and then grabbing dinner/drinks afterwards with friends. I am also a fan of a Friday night movie. It's a great way to cap a workweek in a relaxing way.

The more films you see, you will eventually come to experience your favorite films. You can be a fan of the movies without having encyclopedic/IMDB knowledge. :) Experiencing belly laughs or being inspired by a film story is one of life's simple pleasures.
