How to Write a Thesis
Introduction
A thesis presents a theory or idea for consideration and usually is written by candidates for academic degrees. Follow these steps to write an effective thesis.

Step One
Begin with a title page. Include the title, subtitle, author's name, name of institution, date of delivery and faculty advisor's name.

Step Two
Create an abstract. The abstract should state the purpose of the paper in one sentence and summarize the major points of the paper. It should be between 1 and 2 paragraphs long.

Step Three
Incorporate a Table of Contents. This should contain a list of page numbers for everything included in the paper from the list of figures to the appendices. Subheadings should be indented.

Step Four
Continue with a list of figures and a list of tables, including page numbers.

Step Five
Write the Introduction, which introduces the theory or idea of the work. There should be an interesting statement that hooks the reader. The next paragraphs should cite other works pertaining to this subject.

Step Six
Cover the methods and results next in the thesis. The methods refer to the materials, procedures, theory and validity. The results are the findings of tests and experiments.

Step Seven
Conclude by restating the theory or idea of the thesis, and sum up the main points. Discuss the conclusions found from the methods of investigation.

Step Eight
Finish with recommendations for further investigation of the subject, acknowledgment of those who helped, references of other works used and appendices.
