How to Write Erotica for Women

Introduction

When they say men are from Mars and women are from Venus, it means the two often have different sexual interests. One can't think like a man when writing erotica for women. Women's interest in erotic writing is slightly different than what's in the Penthouse Forum.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Creating a Story

Steps

1

Step One

Read and research erotic writing. You have to write what you know about. If you don't know much about erotica, learn.
2

Step Two

Create a decent plot that revolves around the sex scenes. Yes, the sex often takes up half the writing, but there should be a story that works with it.
3

Step Three

Create characters with personality. You can't just focus on their sex organs. They must have personas and relationships that develop throughout the story.
4

Step Four

Tease the reader with an opening that makes them curious. You want to intrigue them so they become interested in the whole story and don't just flip to the sex scenes.
5

Step Five

Draw the story out as long as possible. Make the reader think the big climax is coming soon, but hold off. Make sure the best is saved for the end.

Writing Sex

Steps

1

Step One

Know that you won't get away with a bunch of short descriptions and swear words. Erotica is not pornography.
2

Step Two

Write as descriptive as possible. Describe the feelings the characters have in their sexual experience. Make the reader feel like a participant.
3

Step Three

Appeal to all the five senses. Make the reader able to see, hear, touch, smell and taste the scene.
4

Step Four

Use all the variety and creativity that you have. Remember, you're writing multiple sex scenes in an erotic story. If they're all the same, it will get boring quickly.
