How to Write About Grandparenting in an Autobiography

Introduction

Every grandparent knows that just because you have raised your children, that doesn't mean your job is done. You then have to help raise your grandchildren. Write about your grandparenting experience in your autobiography--you may help a new grandparent.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Write about your child's courtship, engagement and wedding. How did you feel about it all?
2

Step Two

Write about your relationship with your son or daughter-in-law.
3

Step Three

Write about when you found out that you were going to be a grandparent and the pregnancy.
4

Step Four

Write about the day you became a grandparent.
5

Step Five

Write about the first time you saw your grandchild.
6

Step Six

Write about your involvement in your grandchild's life.
7

Step Seven

Write about things you want to teach your grandchild or lessons you want them to learn.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Don't write anything that isn't true. You can be and will be charged with libel and could potentially go to jail.
  • If you write only the truth, you should be safe. Realize, however, that anyone can sue for anything. It is best to visit with a lawyer beforehand to determine what you should do to protect yourself.
