Win a Political Campaign

Steps

1

Step One

Organize yourself, your objectives and your staff. The only way to win a political campaign is to have a strong strategy. Strategy is created by having all campaign-related issues organized so that they are accessible for viewing and for creating analysis.
2

Step Two

Access your database of family, friends, neighbors, community members, acquaintances, political figures and other important sources of support. You database should include name, business, position, address, telephone numbers, email address and a short note about the relationship.
3

Step Three

Go door to door in local neighborhoods and introduce yourself. You may want to snap a few photos or record with a video camera. Always ask permission before taking a picture on private property. Choose to go at a time of the day when people are home, but not during mealtimes.
4

Step Four

Create campaign literature in the form of brochures, postcard and flyers. Information can also be published online with the creation of a campaign website.
5

Step Five

Print lawn signs that can familiarize motorists with your name and the public office position you are running for.
6

Step Six

Raise funds by sponsoring benefit dinners or hosting special interest events. These dinners and events should be black-tie affairs and a per-plate donation should be required.
7

Step Seven

Gather endorsements from other political organizations or from corporations that are supporting your run for office.
8

Step Eight

Make frequent public appearances in places that are relevant to your campaign theme. For example, if you are taking a determined stance on educational improvement in your community, you should make appearances at local schools and libraries.
9

Step Nine

Design influential and informational commercials for viewing on local networks.
10

Step Ten

Take surveys of public opinion after a primary election if applicable to your public office. These surveys should be gathered over the telephone using volunteer call-service representatives. Knowing what a majority of the population wants out of their represented officials is important to win a political campaign.
