How to Watch the Grammy Awards

Introduction

The Grammy Awards Show is the biggest night in music. All the major music stars are there. Young and old, country and rock, blues and jazz, recorded voice and the spoken word are all forms of musical entertainment that are awarded at this show, which is usually held in mid-February. Here are some tips on how to watch the Grammy Awards.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Go to the Grammy Awards and see all of your favorite musical talents. Tickets are very limited, but if you have the cash, ticket brokers will have the stash. Be prepared to pay upwards of $500 per ticket. You won't be on the floor with the stars, but with the giant monitors and electric crowd you will certainly be part of the experience. Check out onlineseats.com, ticketpro.com and even ebay to score seats. Also they can usually be purchased through ticketmaster before the brokers get to them, but you must be quick.
2

Step Two

Hang in the stands outside of the red carpet. If you don't mind a sleepless night or two, get into the stands and wait for the musicians to pull up to the red carpet. Every year the rules change slightly as to when you can start hanging out. The best thing to do is contact the venue to find out when the stands will be opened to the public. Popular places for the Grammy Awards are The Staples Center in Los Angeles and Radio City Music Hall in New York.
3

Step Three

View the pre-show from the comfort of your own home. Many times the pre-show is more exciting than the actual show. It's the time where the musicians are spontaneous as they are interviewed. Channels like E! and TV Guide usually cover the carpet.
4

Step Four

Watch the Grammy Awards at a party. If the stars are at a party, then you should be too. Gather friends to watch the Grammys from the comfort of someone's home. The rights to carry the Grammys are ever changing as Networks outbid each other to cover the highly rated telecast. Check tvguide.com for the date, time and channel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Print out a list of who is nominated for what before you start. You'll enjoy the program more as you familiarize yourself with the acts that are nominated. If you're at a party, have a contest to see who can pick the most winners.
