How to Volunteer for the Jaycees

Introduction

The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, The Jaycees, was established in 1920 to give young men the opportunity to advance themselves in business development, management, community service and international connections. The Jaycees later expanded to include women, reflecting a changing society and the role of women in the business community. The Jaycees have been actively involved in communities across America for 86 years.

Step Seven

Offer your services to one or more Jaycee sponsored events during the year. As a service organization, there are many opportunities to be involved.

Tips & Warnings

  • Attend a monthly informational night sponsored by your local Jaycees. These meetings provide more detailed information about the organization so you can make an informed decision.
  • Talk to other Jaycees in the area to see if this group is right for you. Current members can give insight as to whether the Jaycees are a good fit.
  • The Jaycees, like any other business and service organization takes a commitment of time. Be sure you know how much time is involved before you join.
