The Philadelphia Museum of Art houses one of the largest art collections in the entire United States. There are more than 200 galleries within the museum and over 200,000 works of art. Visitors to Philadelphia should plan to spend a day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Visit the museum daily, Tuesday through Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays and major holidays. Admission is low cost and includes entrance to all areas of the museum with the exception of any specialty exhibitions that may be showing.

Take an introductory guided tour. A guide will give you an overview of the collections found in the museum. The tour is offered several times daily and is complimentary to all paid guests.

Allow yourself time to enjoy the most popular permanent collections in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The European Art gallery features works by the renowned artists Rubens, Vallejo and Cipriani. The Asian Art collection has pieces from 2,500 B.C. to present day.

Check out the calendar of events. There is a rotating schedule of exhibitions and lectures at the museum. There are also programs geared towards children.
