How to Use the Advanced Book Exchange

Introduction

The Advanced Book Exchange, or AbeBooks as it is commonly called, is a website where sellers of used, new and rare books can list their wares for the buying public. In a few quick steps you can use the Advanced Book Exchange.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Create an Abe account in order to purchase items, but it is not necessary to have an account for casual browsing. If you choose not to create an account before you browse, the site requires you to create one upon checkout.
2

Step Two

Browse freely or search for a specific title. AbeBooks allows users to look through various pre-arranged categories for books of interest. For the focused shopper, broad or advanced search options are available for locating particular books. Users may search by keyword, International Standard Book Number (ISBN), title or author.
3

Step Three

Read individual entries for books of interest. Each book for sale at the Advanced Book Exchange has its own page which lists the publisher, ISBN, the binding style and a short condition note. Sellers may also write a short description of the book's condition to give a clearer idea of what the book is like. A currency converter is also available on each book's page.
4

Step Four

Buy books with ease by adding several to your online shopping basket. Once a book is placed in the Abe shopping basket, users can check out immediately with a credit card or save the purchase for later. Users can also send a copy of the shopping basket to an e-mail address.
5

Step Five

Become an Advanced Book Exchange seller by signing up. The Abe homepage's "Sell Books" button allows users to read a brief Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section and begin selling books quickly. Selling requires an inventory software, but Abe offers a conveniently free download.
6

Step Six

Shop from around the world with Abe's international subsidiaries. The Advanced Book Exchange services the United States, United Kingdom, France, and various other countries.
