How to Use a Transcriber
Introduction
The need for the use of a transcription machine increases as a new business develops, the mission of an organization changes, or business growth dictates the requirement of a hard copy log of the company's transactions.

Steps

Step One
Follow proper training for using the transcribing machine. Training that is available with the purchase of a transcriber machine, either online or in print, can be requested from the manufacturer.

Step Two
Prepare to start transcribing the dictation by placing the headphones on your ears and familiarizing yourself with button and key locations on your machine.

Step Three
Insert the audio recording with the dictation to be transcribed into the tape deck.

Step Four
Position your fingers on the transcriber keyboard in the a??readya?? position. This should be with your fingers covering a??a, s, d, fa?? and a??j, k, l, ;a?? keys.

Step Five
Locate and press the a??playa?? button on the transcription machine. As the tape begins to playback, begin typing the dictation into your system.

Step Six
Press the a??pausea?? button as necessary during playback time to repeat or rewind the audio recording or to make any other necessary adjustments while you are typing.

Step Seven
Rewind the tape at the end of the transcription session. Remove the tape to avoid tape-over and store it for future reference if needed.

- While the machine is not in use turn it off to avoid damage or overheating.
