How to Throw Cards

Introduction

In the next few paragraphs, I will explain the proper technique to toss a throwing card the maximum distance.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need

  • One normal deck of playing, trading, or credit cards.
  • A human hand with a bendable wrist.
  • A long, windless throwing area. (Such as a gym)

Steps

1

Step One

Exercise your wrist by flexing it and rotating it for a few seconds.
2

Step Two

Select a flat, unfringed card from your deck and handle it carefully.
3

Step Three

Grip it lightly with the upper tip between your index and middle fingers.
4

Step Four

Place the thumb on one side of the card, while you place your ring and pinkie on the other side (to reinforce the thumb).
5

Step Five

Bring the card up about six inches from your cheek and steady it.
6

Step Six

Now, twist your wrist outward to where the card goes horizontal. Repeat this movement several times to prepare your wrist.
7

Step Seven

Once you feel ready, execute the same movement you were practicing, but let go just as the card levels out (horizontally). It should fly for at least a few feet.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Keep practicing, the more you practice, the farther and harder the card will fly. (Wrist exercises help)
  • Credit cards fly much better and carry much more momentum, I usually throw these, although playing cards are exceptional flyers.
  • Throwing the card really hard deosn't always make it go farther, it actually causes the acting forces to overtake the card.
  • Throwing too hard can sprain your wrist, causing innumerable difficulties in the long run.
  • Exercise before EVERY throw (step 1), it will keep you safer from an injury.
