How to Take Better Landscape Photographs
Introduction
You don't have to travel the world to take great landscape photographs. Look around your immediate surroundings to find locations for your next series of shots.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Steps
1
Step One
Get out of bed before the sun comes up. Take a better landscape photograph at sunrise or sunset. The photographer who is willing to get up before the birds start singing will find a beautifully lit landscape to photograph.
2
Step Two
Consider adding a subject to a landscape photograph to show its size. Capture the mountain with a person standing near the base or a deer crossing the peak.
3
Step Three
Look for the calm after the storm. Rain makes for a completely new perspective on a landscape. Large storm clouds looming over a wide open field or rain filled leaves on soaked trees add to a landscape photo.
4
Step Four
Know your lighting. When photographing a mountain range, decide if you want the range lit from the back, front or side. Pick the right time of day to obtain that lighting.
5
Step Five
Use a tripod to make sure your photographs are as crisp as possible. This eliminates any blurring caused by your hand shaking or moving the camera while photographing the landscape.
