How to Record Online Music

So you hear a piece of music you really like online and you want to have the mp3? The audio can be yours very simply! Read on...

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You'll Need

  • A computer
  • Functioning sound card
  • Freecorder software
  • Program thats plays music

Steps

Step One

Download the free software Freecorder you can find it by Googling "freecorder". Install and open it up.

Change Settings

Click the "Settings" button and set your desired output destination and make sure you set the "Prompt for File Name" to "After Recording."

Step Three

Navigate to the website or application that hosts the music/sound you want and make sure it is ready to play. With the Freecorder software in the foreground click the record button then without delay start the audio you want to record.

Step Four

When the audio has finished click the stop button to be presented with the save dialogue. Enter in your desired title and click OK.

Step Five

Open up your destination folder, select your file with a player of your choice and enjoy your very own copy!

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Before recording make sure you change the settings to your needs
  • Don't forget to change the Properties of your output file from "Freecorder" to the relative artist name and track title.
  • You can eliminate any accidental silence by selecting the option from Settings.
  • DO NOT record any copyrighted material as this may be against the law. Only record audio that is copyright free.
  • This will save audio files as MP3 ONLY.
