How to Plan a Getaway to the Gdansk's Open'er Festival

Introduction

The Gdansk Open'er Festival is one of the many summer festivals held throughout Europe, but it features a uniquely Polish twist.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Steps

1

Step One

The festival site is accessible by plane, train, buses or coaches, by car and by ferry. Shuttle buses are often provided after arriving at the train station. (These buses are for festival goers only.)

Tickets are necessary at any festival and this one is no exception. Your tickets will be traded for wristbands at the opening of the festival site.
2

Step Two

You have many options from which to choose here; you can stay at a hotel or a guest house or a hostel. You can even rent your own apartment for the duration of the festival. For a complete list of what accomodation is available, see Resources. The Festival does have campsites available, but they do fill up quite quickly, so if you know you're going to the Open'er Festival, book as far in advance as you can.
3

Step Three

The line-up of talented musicians is split amongst three stages: the main stage, the tent stage and the young talent stage. In past, every one from the Beastie Boys to Indios Bravos and Groove Armada have performed! This is one festival that packs in some of the music industry's great talents.
4

Step Four

There are strict regulations surrounding this festival: no alcohol or drugs, no sharp objects, no recording equipment and no bottles or containers are allowed.
