How to Open a Web Page on a Treo Smartphone

Introduction

If you own a laptop, you can log onto the Internet from any wi-fi hotspot. But have you ever considered browsing with your mobile phone? The Treo Smartphone has a fully-fledged, built-in Web browser built. You can continually browse and even fill in forms. Here's how it works.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Make sure your phone is turned on and not in the "Flight" mode.
2

Step Two

Select "Applications" and navigate to the Web browser, which is called "Web" and has a small picture of a globe next to it.
3

Step Three

Type the address of the Web site you want to visit in the address bar at the top of the page.
4

Step Four

Click "Go" and wait for your page to load.

Tips & Warnings

  • Web pages are automatically optimized to fit on your screen's display, so you needn't scroll horizontally. You can, however, view the original version by selecting "Wide View," and scroll in all four directions.
  • In optimized mode, follow links by selecting them with the navigational key. In wide mode, tap the screen instead.
  • For fast Internet browsing, click the lightning bolt button. This loads a Web page without images or style sheets.
  • Fill in online forms and submit them by pressing either the button on the Web site or the "Return" button on your phone.
  • Your Treo, like your computer, is vulnerable to viruses. Never download applications from sources you don't trust.
