How to Judge the Quality of a Pool Table
Introduction
When several tables are available, use these few simple techniques to make sure you choose the best one to play on.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Steps
1
Step One
Check the surface of the table. It should be clean and free of bumps, tears and scratches. The surface should be taut and smooth everywhere.
2
Step Two
Bump the table. It shouldn't shake or move at all. If it does, try another table.
3
Step Three
Size up the table visually. Heavier is better.
4
Step Four
Note the walls around the table. Sometimes room dimensions put restrictions on certain angles.
5
Step Five
Check the pockets of the table. Wider pockets are more fun. Place two balls in the narrow space of the pocket. If both fit easily, the pockets are a good size.
6
Step Six
Hit some balls on the table. Each table has its own personality. Choose one you like.
7
Step Seven
Note the lighting on the table. More light is better.
