How to Install an SD card in a Treo Smartphone

Introduction

Your Treo smartphone has limited memory, but you can easily add additional memory with an SD card. Treos are compatible with both SD and MMC memory cards. Use these instructions to install your SD card.

Steps

Step One

Turn the phone on its side. You'll see the small expansion card slot with a cover over it.

Step Two

Open the slot so you can see an opening that's about the size of your memory card.

Step Three

Take out the old SD card by lightly pressing on it. It should pop up for easy removal.

Insert the new SD card and press firmly until it clicks into place.

Replace the expansion card cover.

Your phone now has increased memory. Enjoy!

  • The Treo smartphone is also compatible with SDIO cards. If you are installing an SDIO card, you will need to install some drivers.
  • If the SD card does not fit properly, remove it and put it in the other way.
  • The various types of memory cards look very different from one another, so it will be easy to tell if you have the wrong type.
  • Remember to buy an SD card, not a mini SD card. Your phone can only use a mini SD card if it has the correct adapter.
