How to Install Itunes for Apple TV

Introduction

Itunes is the heart and soul of Apple TV. Without Itunes, youa??ve got nothing. You might have the best HDTV on the market, but without Itunes your Apple TV is going to be about as useful to your TV as a frisbee.

Steps

Download the most recent version of Itunes: Itunes 7. Open Itunes and check to see if you have the most recent version in the Itunes menu. You can get the latest version at Apple.com for Windows or Mac.

Make sure you have enough disk space and speed available. 256MB RAM and a 500 MHz Pentium class processor for Windows or 500 MHz G3 for Macs.

For Macs: if ita??s not working after install, use the disk utility to repair the harddrive and/or repair disk permissions.

For Windows: Delete all Itunes files on your computer and start over. If that doesna??t work, delete your Temp folder. It could also be a problem with QuickTimea??download the standalone QuickTime installer (6.5.2 or later). Move the Itunes folder to your desktop, rather than hidden within other folders. If ita??s still a problem, recheck Step #2.

Once everything is working: open Itunes and click on Apple TV in Devices. It will then import your Itunes library to your Apple TV. You can also select different shows/music/or photos to either stream or sync.
