How to Host a Red Hat Party
Introduction
Ladies wearing "red hats" have popped up all over the country. They are nothing to fear, but rather to admire, as they are members of what is called "The Red Hat Society." The purpose of this "dis-organization" is to have fun and enjoy life as maturing women. Hosting a Red Hat Party can be fun as long as a few guidelines are followed.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderate
Steps
1
Step One
Plan the first step to hosting a Red Hat party. Take into consideration the location and type of event, if it has wheelchair access and if they have adequate seating for your chapter.
2
Step Two
Work to plan a party or event that is unique or hasn't yet been done. Maybe a theme would fit your needs such as a cruise party, a Hawaiian luau, New Orleans style, Western days, a 50s sock hop, a zoo party, a surprise birthday for one of the members or a wine and cheese event. Make an effort to have the party or event be within the price range of all chapter members so that everyone can enjoy themselves without spending a lot of money. Your chapter may have set guidelines for cost and fees set in place that you should refer to when planning the Red Hat party that you will being hosting.
3
Step Three
Firm up all the details for the Red Hat party with the manager or person in charge of the facility or venue where your party will take place. This should also include planning the menu for the event. Do make sure that you consider the dietary issues that some of the chapter members may have so the menu will be enjoyable to everyone attending.
4
Step Four
Design or purchase an invitation that will compliment your party theme or event. Keep it on the fun side, but include all the necessary details, date, time, attire, theme, cost and maybe directions. Be sure to include your phone number for email address for a RSVP or questions that may arise.
5
Step Five
Mail your invitations approximately six weeks prior to your planned event. At the monthly meeting prior to your party, take a flyer to pass around promoting the Red Hat party you will be hosting. This will help spread the word to make sure that everyone was invited in one way or another.
6
Step Six
Keep a record of the RSVPs being received in the weeks prior to the party, follow up with the event facility personnel, fine tune the menu and, most importantly, plan which "red hat" you are going to wear as hostess of the Red Hat party.
7
Step Seven
Prepare to have fun as that's what is all about. You have already done all your work and party day is the day to have fun as hostess of your Red Hat party.
