Introduction

Wikipedia is packed with information on almost any subject you can name. With so much content there, the information has to be very well-organized so that readers are able to find it easily. Wikipedia organizes its pages into portals and lists and highlights its best content with the a??Featureda?? tag that is added to the most valuable content.

Click the a??Featured Contenta?? link in the upper left corner of any Wikipedia Web page.

Click the a??Featured Listsa?? link on the Featured Content page. Youa??ll find this in the upper right corner.

Scroll through the featured lists to find the one youa??re looking for, or browse until you see something that interests you.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Lists are pages which list all the different items that are part of that topic. For example, there are lists of different types of cheeses, a list of books that are banned in various countries, and lists of fictional places. Each item in the list links to a Wikipedia Web page with information on the item.
  • There are usually 200 or more featured lists on Wikipedia at any one time.
  • Lists are organized alphabetically by category.
