How to Find Valentine's Day Books

Introduction

You can find Valentine books about a wide range of topics and including many different fictional characters.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Know that there are books about Valentine's Day for all age groups from infant to adult.
2

Step Two

Go to your local library and search for listings using the words "Valentine" or "Valentine's" as a subject. Ask a librarian if you need help doing a search.
3

Step Three

Head to a local book store. Often there will be a Valentine's Day display in the children's department or in the front of the store. Ask a store employee for assistance if you cannot find anything.
4

Step Four

Search an online bookstore using the same search words you used at the library.
5

Step Five

Realize that, if you are shopping for a child, you may want to check to see if you can find a book featuring the child's favorite book or TV character. Valentine books feature Barney, Elmo, Nate the Great, Blue, Clifford, Corduroy, the Berenstain Bears, the Baby-Sitters Club, Louanne Pig, Arthur, Winnie the Pooh, Franklin and many more.
6

Step Six

Think about the type of book you would like - the history of Valentine's Day, craft ideas, card ideas, Valentine joke books, romances, coloring books, activity books, mysteries, poems ... Search using the words "Valentine" or "Valentine's" with the name of the type of book or character you are looking for.
7

Step Seven

Page through the books you come upon to determine if they are what you are looking for.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you will be giving the book as a gift, wrap it in heart-covered paper. Add some Valentine candy to please your sweetie's sweet tooth.
