How to Do Your First Card Trick
Introduction
Card tricks are a great way to entertain friends and family, especially children. They can be a great hit at parties or any social occasion. Follow these steps to learn how to dazzle an audience with this basic card trick.

Steps

Step One
Shuffle a deck of cards and allow a spectator to select one. Turn so they can show it to other spectators and memorize the card without revealing it to you.

Step Two
Peek at the bottom card of the deck while turned away; this is called a key card. Turn back to the spectator and have them place the card, without revealing it, on the top of the deck.

Step Three
Cut the cards once, which places the key card on top on the selected card. Place the deck on the table and stare at it.

Step Four
Place one forefinger against the forehead and use the other hand to start slowly overturning cards. Feign intense effort and mental strain.

Step Five
Stop overturning cards when the key card is revealed. Sit back and announce that the spectator should overturn the next card, allowing them to reveal their selected card.

Start learning additional card tricks by searching the local library for books on beginner's magic. Perform card tricks often for people.
