How to Create a Speed Dial List on a Fax Machine

Introduction

Many fax machines have a built-in phone book, which allows you to enter a certain amount of names and numbers for faxing. Once you have entered the names and numbers, you can dial the number by using either one-touch dialing, speed dialing or searching the phone book. Follow the steps below to create a speed dial list on a fax machine.

Step One

Press the a??Speed Diala?? button on your fax machine for about two seconds. The display will show a??Speed (00-80)>##.a??

Step Two

Enter a two-digit number then press a??Start/Enter.a?? Numbers from 00 to 09 can be used for one-touch dialing. The numbers 10 and up can be used for speed dialing.

Step Three

Enter the fax number you want to store (up to 40 digits) and then press a??Start/Enter.a?? If you hit a wrong number by mistake, you can use the a??<a?? or a??>a?? keys to move the cursor under the digit and then enter the correct digit.

Step Four

Enter the name of the person (up to 20 characters) and press a??Start/Enter.a?? To enter more names and numbers repeat the above steps.

Step Five

Press a??Cancela?? to exit. The name and number you have entered will go in a phone book.

Print a phone book by pressing the a??Report/Helpa?? key. Then press a??<a?? or a??>a?? until a??Phonebooka?? displays and press a??Start/Enter.a??

  • Refer to your fax machine manual, as each fax machine will be a little different.
  • In case you can not remember which number you assigned to each code, you can print out the phone book.
