How to Call a Phone Number on a Web Page From a Treo Smartphone

Introduction

Palm Smartphone devices incorporate the advantages and versatile functions of an organizer in a light, easy-to-use mobile phone. The Treo Smartphone recognizes phone numbers that appear in messages or Web pages and lets you dial a phone number from a Web page. Here is how this useful feature works.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Select the phone number you want to call in the Web page using the five-way navigator.
2

Step Two

Press the "Center" option. This will open the "Dial" dialog box.
3

Step Three

Press "Dial" to call the number.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use a phone number that appears in a text message, a multimedia message or an email.
  • The number dialed from a Web page will be available for redialing or further use in the "Recently Dialed Numbers" option on the Smartphone.
  • By following the same steps, you can also use the phone number to send a message.
  • When a phone number, email address or Web link is recognized by the Smartphone and highlighted on a Web page or in an email or message, the text appears in reverse type (dark background color and light text).
  • If you cannot select or highlight the chosen phone number in an email, message or Web page using the navigator, it means that the Treo Smartphone does not recognize it as a valid number.
  • Personal usage plays an important part in battery consumption rate. Consumption factors include signal strength, data connections that are used to access the Web page or email, the speakerphone and vibration feature usage and call type (data or voice calls) and duration.
