Step One
Write letters to your congressional representative and senators. You can leave messages for legislators in the Senate by calling (501) 682-2902. Or call the House of Representatives at (501) 682-6211. Phone on days when legislation is imminent

Step Two
Use the Human Rights Campaigna??s action center (see Resources) to send messages to your representatives.

Step Three
Visit the Wisconsin ACLU Web site (see Resources). The ACLU is an active combatant in the fight for gay rights. Through the organization's site, you can track bills and access links to Wisconsin legislators.

Step Four
Visit the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Web site (see Resources below) and volunteer or join its "Monitor and Mobilize" team. You can also use the site to track events and access publications.

Step Five
Stay informed. Listen to "Queery" on radio station WORT (89.9 FM). The show features news and information focusing on gay issues on Wednesdays from 7 to 7:30pm. You also can visit the Web site for this community radio station and access a live feed or listen to archived shows (see Resources).
