How to Avoid Ticketmaster When Buying New Orleans Jazz Fest Tickets

Introduction

Ticketmaster basically has a monopoly on ticket sellinga??so much so that Pearl Jam took them to task, and to court. The New Orleans Jazz Fest is no exception. Up on the New Orleans Jazz Fest site (www.nojazzfest.com) they recommend buying tickets from Ticketmaster. There are other places to find tickets, which wona??t have the same service charge.

Buy tickets at the gate. Keep in mind that ticket prices go up ten dollars the day of the Jazz Fest.

Check Ebay. Careful, therea??s a fine line between a high bid and scalping. Ita??s perfectly legal to buy tickets on Ebay, but there are unscrupulous people out there. Check their user ratings.

Check Craigslist. Craigslist is growing as a place for people to unload all sorts of stuff. Dona??t just check New Orleans Craigslist. Check your city as well (if you dona??t live in NOLA) so you can buy the tickets in person.
