You can't buy ringtones directly from the iTunes Store. Instead, you first must buy the song you want the ringtone from and then use iTunes’ built-in ringtones editor to create and buy the new ringtone. At the launch of the iTunes ringtone service, not all songs are eligible to be converted to ringtones. So, how do you know, before you buy a song, whether it can be made into a ringtone?
