Introduction

A few simple steps on starting a magazine with your buddies.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need

  • Pens
  • Paper (notebooks are good)
  • Printer
  • Printer paper
  • Computer
  • Co-workers

Steps

1

Step One

Gather a team of 2 or 3 friends as the founders.
2

Step Two

Get a theme for the magazine, and write down a few name ideas.
3

Step Three

Make a list of Things that will be in the magazine (a.k.a gossip, contests...). Make another list of the different kinds of workers you will need (a.k.a photographer, reporter...).
4

Step Four

Choose the name. Plan a layout. Will it be A4 or A5? How many pages will it approximately need? Make sure that all of your articles fit!
5

Step Five

Make a rough draft of the magazine on the computer. Make set tasks for your workers, making sure that all their work comes in before the deadline.
6

Step Six

Make sure that all the handed in work is ok. Now make a copy of the magazine on the computer, then edit the layout so that it looks good.
7

Step Seven

Print a final copy of the magazine, and make sure that it looks good. If it's ok, then great!
8

Step Eight

Make around 10-20 copies of the magazine, and choose the price. Make sure that it is reasonable, yet high enough to bring in cash for the photocopying and yourself.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Get to know all your workers well.
  • Plan ahead on the price.
  • Have fun!
