Introduction

Audacity is a popular digital audio editor, because it's free and it's easy to use. After you finish recording and editing your podcast episode, the last step is to save it and export it as an mp3.

  • completed podcast

Step One

First, double check that everything is done and how you want it to sound.

Save your project first, so you can always go back to it if necessary. Go to File, click on Save Project, and give it a name.

Next, go back to File and choose Export as MP3.

After you do that, a window will pop up called "Edit the ID3 tags for the MP3 File." The info ID3 tags included in the audio file what it is. Label your podcast; give it a title, author, and include any other relevant information the listener might want to know. Under Genre, there is a "Podcast" option.

Hit OK, it'll save the file and Export.

Click on the file from your computer to make sure it works.
