Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Steps

1

Step One

Don't worry about a ticket. Big is funded entirely by supporters of the arts. Bear in mind however, that there will be thousands of people at this event, and that transport to and from Falkirk will be crowded.
2

Step Two

Big is located in Falkirk's beautiful 180-acre Callendar Park. First Buses operates a service from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Livingston and Alloa direct to Falkirk Bus Station (a 3-minute walk from Callendar Park).
3

Step Three

Ditch the car. Parking for Big will be limited during the festival. You can use the Park and Ride Service which runs Monday to Saturday from the Three Bridges Car Park, situated to the west of Falkirk at the junction of the A803 and the A883.
4

Step Four

Follow the brown tourist signs for the Falkirk Wheel which lead directly to the Park + Ride site.
5

Step Five

Use the local Bus Services (1 and 2) which run every 10 minutes and will take you from the Park + Ride to Callendar Road, leading to the venue for Big.
6

Step Six

Big has won awards for its contemporary theatre productions. Make sure you visit several plays during the festival. The festival also presents popular music acts and often hosts bands just before they become famous.
7

Step Seven

Dress for the weather. Early May in Scotland can be grey, drizzly and stormy. Bring a pair of wellington boots.
